Anne Rendle is a violinist and teacher who loves to create a fun, relaxed lesson environment for her students while encouraging them to strive for beautiful technique and musicality. She currently teaches private lessons and monthly group classes in Renton, WA.
She's been playing violin since the fifth grade and has had the pleasure of studying with Karen Harkness Rice, Patty Nuernberg, Ruth Marie Ballance, and Jan Coleman. It became clear to her that she absolutely had to study violin after she heard her older brother and his youth symphony play “The Moldau” by Bedrich Smetana in which the strings play beautiful melodic passages that sound like flowing rivers and flying birds. She completed a Bachelor's in Music through Thomas Edison State University and has received Suzuki Method violin pedagogy certification studying with Kathleen Spring, Susan Kempter, Beth Titterington, Cathy Lee, Kirsten Marshall, Ann Montzka Smelser, Mark Mutter, and Allen Lieb. She has also completed the courses Teaching Violin and Viola: Creating a Healthy Foundation through Northwestern University, Violin/Viola Teacher's Retreat with Mimi Zweig through Indiana University, and Level 1 Endorsement in Paul Rolland's String Pedagogy. Anne is always looking for ways to grow as a teacher and player - one of her favorite ways is to participate in violin and viola teacher training seminars and summer intensive institutes. She plays weekly in New Hope Presbyterian Church's worship ensemble and is thrilled to regularly perform with the folk/new age band Erwilian. (Check them out here!) When she's not teaching or making music, Anne loves to spend time by the ocean, research new music theory and violin technique games, call at country dances, watch period dramas and K-dramas with her family, go to Disney theme parks, and plan road trips to Broadway tour shows and summer music institutes. |
